To my great regret, the volunteer that we had chosen to be our first Featured Volunteer just retired. The fact that he has left us however, does not change a thing about what I had written, so I believe he still deserves to be featured. Patti Kleist, Faith in Action Westsound, Executive Director FIA's Thrift Store is just not going to be the same without Fred Fawcett's kooky smile and zany humor. Not to mention all the energy he brought to his more than 100 volunteer hours a month. A whirling dervish, he seemed to be everywhere at once. We had all learned its often best to just get out of his way as he raced through the hall, arms ladened with the latest donated treasures. Fred worked the dock and outside tents, taking proud ownership of both. He had also been known to park in our lot off hours to make sure none of our community members risked a fine for "dumping". Fred worked Tues and Thurs afternoons and Saturday. He had many friends who would stop by and say hello to him and his best buddy Totoro.
